Kiwanis de Amigos has been serving the needs of kids and the Tucson community since 1980.  Although hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised by Kiwanis de Amigos and donated to organizations helping children, the most personally rewarding activities are the hands-on service projects.  Whether building houses with Habitat for Humanity, feeding the hungry or tutoring kids in their schools, these are the ways we see and feel our impact in the lives of those we serve.

We are simply a group of men and woman of all ages and backgrounds that wish to give back to our community through service and donations. Our emphasis is on helping Tucson's children.  Our projects include:

  • Sponsorship and participation with three school service clubs -- the Sabino High School Key Club, Rincon/University High School Key Club, and Walter Douglas Elementary School K-Kids Club.

  • Running of The Relays and Rattlesnake Run middle school track and field events. Both events are open to all middle school (6th, 7th and 8th Grade) athletes from Southern Arizona and are financed through contributions of community minded businesses and individuals.  Typically about 400 students and more than 20 schools attend the events.  Participation of the schools and athletes is free.  These events build confidence and team spirit in our young students. The club members and volunteers including professional referees are rewarded with smiles and that great feeling that we have made a difference in children's lives.

>> The Relays is a track and field event held in April at he University of Arizona in April of each year.  Students are challenged by a full spectrum of events -- high jump, relay races, foot races, long jump and shot put. Team and individual awards are given.

>> The Rattlesnake Run is a cross country foot race held each year in September at Christopher Columbus Park in Tucson.  This is the largest run of its kind in Arizona.   86 awards are presented to winning teams and individuals!
